Bishop Allen L. Bruton is the senior pastor at New Hope Baptist Church in Greer, SC. He is also the Founder of Allen Bruton Ministries, a nonprofit organization developed to help the needy and establish ministry excellence among pastors and Christian Leaders. The Lord has given Bishop Bruton a mandate to plant churches and prepare leaders for the body of Christ. In January 2013 Bishop Bruton was consecrated to the office of Bishop. Bishop Bruton was born again in 1985 and accepted the call from God to preach in 1988. Before he became the pastor of New Hope, he was ordained in 1996 and served as associate and youth pastor under the leadership of Pastor C.N. Sullivan for over thirteen years at New Hope Baptist Church. Bishop Bruton is a playwright with such plays as gospel stage plays "A Struggle to Be Free", "Church Folk" and "Family Secrets". He is an author of several books entitled "Out On a Limb", "Seven Steps to a Brand New You", "Transition" and "Men Things". He is the founder of a Summer Outreach, Praise In The Park, which is a nonprofit outreach event that feeds the community and combines health awareness, ministry and praise in the local park. He plans to organize a Walk of Hope event to unite the community and also benefit nonprofit organizations across the Upstate of South Carolina.

Bishop Bruton is the founder of City of Hope Bible College located in Greer, SC which began classes in February, 2009. He has been mandated by God to train ministers and the people of God for the gospel work through the City of Hope Bible College. Individuals can obtain associates, bachelors, masters and eventually their doctorate degrees at the City of Hope Bible College. Bishop Bruton is an instructor in the COHBC and he also teaches a Minister's Prayer and Preparation class once a month which is open to anyone who has a ministry calling on his/her life. Bishop Bruton recently obtained a Doctor of Divinity degree from the International Bible Training Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He is the founder of Africa Wells Foundation! The Africa Wells Foundation is a global non-profit helps ministry developed to assist the people of Africa. The ministry is established to help build and preserve the lives of all people in need. In 2017, The Africa Wells Foundation drilled its first well for the people of Kenya in the town of Kajiado. Bishop is also active in the local community as a volunteer for several nonprofit organizations! He is a past volunteer for the Middle Tyger Community Center Association and has served on the board of directors. He has been active in Spartanburg County School District Five and has served on D.R. Hill Middle School, Florence Chapel Middle School, Wellford and Berry Shoals Elementary School's Strategic Planning Committees. He worked as a volunteer with the March of Dimes and the Special Olympics annual programs for over 13 years. He has volunteered and raised money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Bishop Bruton received the Mary L. Thomas Award for civic leadership and community change; he was recognized as a 2011 Upstate Black History maker and has received numerous other honors for his generous giving and volunteer work. In March 2018 & 2019, Bishop Bruton held the Pastors and Leaders Conference at the Hilton in Greenville, SC. This annual conference is filled with powerful classes presented by anointed individuals to enrich ministry and help leaders effectively change lives. Some of the classes offered are Church Growth, Church Marketing, Building The Vision, Beyond Pastoral Ministry and Equipping You to Handle Your Church's Administrative Challenges. These classes are just a few of the classes available to help Pastors and Leaders endure the enormous weight of ministry.

Under the leadership of Bishop Bruton, New Hope is growing in miraculous ways. NHBC currently has over 30 ministries committed to edifying, evangelizing and empowering people for the glory of God and the advancing of the Kingdom. The church currently holds two services each Sunday morning to accommodate worship and is in the process of building a new edifice on over eighteen acres of land which was purchased. NHBC is a place of refuge for the hurting, hopeless and helpless people in life. New Hope is known as a place where the Spirit of the Lord "hovers". Bishop Bruton is a man of vision, passion and commitment! He strives for excellence in everything he does for the Lord, his family and his community. He has a genuine love for people and is a spiritual father, covering, mentor and role model to several other pastors in the Upstate of SC, NC, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and the continent of Africa. In 2008, Bishop Bruton established Aaron's Rod, a ministers' guild, covering and mentoring ministry for sons and daughters who desire to submit to the anointing he operates under.

Bishop Bruton is an international and global speaker, a dynamic preacher, an awesome teacher and a very compassionate leader. His anointing and many gifts have made room for him among people from all ages, all genders and all races. He is a motivational speaker, men's conference speaker, leadership conference teacher and he has preached in revivals and conferences throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and the Midwest. In 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2018, he traveled to Africa where he preached to the people and instructed Church leaders in Nairobi and Eldoret Kenya. Bishop Bruton has a global ministry that crosses denominational lines with his message of hope and empowerment. He has a word for leaders as well as lay members. He is a builder of the waste places and he encourages people to trust in Christ, celebrate God and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. Bishop Bruton is married to the former Sharon Anderson and they have been happily married for 34 years. Bishop and Lady Sharon have shared ministry together for twenty-nine years and have raised two wonderful children, Brandon and Kristen. They have one granddaughter, Cali!

There are many other things that could be said about Bishop Bruton's life and his many accomplishments, but the most note-worthy is that he is a child of God. He has been washed in the blood of Jesus and called by God to preach the gospel of Jesus that all men might be saved by the preaching and teaching of the word. He believes that "the end of a thing is better than its beginning" and his favorite saying is, "Devil, How do you like me now?"
